Guitar Group

Program

For Ages 8–18

Strum Together. Build Skills. Play with Confidence.

The Guitar Group Program is a fun and supportive way for students to build foundational guitar skills while enjoying the energy of a group setting. Designed for all experience levels, this weekly small group class helps students develop technique, rhythm, and musical understanding—while playing real songs from the start.

Taught by experienced instructor Andrew Kuhens, this program blends structure with creativity, offering a space where students are encouraged, challenged, and inspired.

What’s Included: 

  • Weekly Small Group Guitar Session
    Learn in a collaborative, fun environment with others at your level.
  • Foundational Guitar Skills
    Build technique, rhythm, and basic chord knowledge.
  • Learn Music Fundamentals (Without the Pressure)
    Understand theory and structure naturally through real songs.
  • Play Real Music Early On
    Students will be strumming along to familiar songs within the first few weeks.
  • Supportive Learning Atmosphere
    Encouragement and growth go hand-in-hand in our group setting.

Session Options:

Try a single 12-week session or commit to the full year for ongoing progress and confidence-building.

  • Fall Session: August 26 – November 11

  • Winter Session: November 18 – February 24
    (No session on Nov. 25, Dec. 23, or Dec. 30)

  • Spring Session: March 3 – May 26
    (No session during FCPS Spring Break) 

When & Where:

Location: Renee’s Music Studio — 9061 Harris Place, Urbana, MD 21704
Group Sessions: Tuesdays from 6:30–7:30 PM
Fall Session Begins: August 26

Meet the Instructor – Andrew Kuhens

 

Andrew is a skilled guitarist and dedicated teacher with over 20 years of music experience. With nearly a decade of teaching under his belt, he’s passionate about helping students grow their skills while continuing to evolve as an artist himself.
