For singers, Renee believes it is important for vocalists to be
well-rounded musicians. She teaches her students sight singing, music theory and ear training while teaching vocal technique. She is classically trained but has completed additional training that has certified her to teach Somatic Voicework (LoVetri Method). This is a method of teaching contemporary and commercial genres of music. Renee currently performs in a contemporary arena and is well versed in classical and contemporary styles of singing.
Renee resides in south Frederick, Maryland with her husband and three active boys. Renee is an avid runner and exercise enthusiast. When she isn't teaching you can find her along the community running paths, or watching her sons sports games. Renee is also an active participant at her church and local mom clubs that also enable her to give back to the community.
LEARNING WITH RENEE
"I studied with Renee, coming to her with no prior training. She provided me with tools and techniques that are useful beyond using my voice for performance. After working with her I not only developed the skills to nail auditions and performances, but also the confidence I needed in order to trust my instrument and my abilities. Now that I am a working artist in NYC I am no longer able to receive her lessons, but she definitely contributed to my development as a singer and overall performer. I highly recommend you schedule a lesson with her. Singers and non-singers alike!"
"Renee taught my daughter voice lessons through most of her high school years. Maggie loved Renee's caring manner and exceptional methods in her own singing and instruction. Renee focuses on each detail regarding her students' progress through her amazing background knowledge of voice instruction and her ability to get along with all types of characters...she holds her students to a high standard of performance and pulls off her work very professionally."
"My son attended music camp. He enjoyed every minute of it! At 5 years old he had very little introduction to music, and Renee's program makes it fun to learn music. Through creative projects and movement he was consistently interested in her lessons and learning music. Not only did he learn about singing and instruments, but it also helped his social skills that are so important at this age."
